Tomato Meat Patties

Here’s an idea when you want to dress up some same-old patties:

1 lb. ground meat (we used sirloin)

Worcestershire Sauce

Dried basil

Dried parsley

Onion powder

Garlic powder

1 can crushed tomatoes

1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Italian bread crumbs

Form the meat into 1/2-inch thick patties. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on both sides of the patties. Season with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powders, parsley, and basil. Drizzle worcestershire sauce on both sides.

Heat a skillet to medium to medium-high and drizzle it with olive oil. Add the patties, cooking about 5 minutes per side or until browned on the outside. Reduce heat to low and pour the tomatoes over the patties. Sprinkle the cheese over everything. Cover with lid and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

Serve with whole-wheat spaghetti.
