Balsamic-Glazed Chicken

This is my mom’s recipe! Her chicken tastes much better than mine, but I’m learning. She wrote this recipe down in my recipe book and it has become a favorite.

Balsamic-Glazed Chicken


  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I used 3)
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper


Marinate the chicken with salt and pepper. (I also like to add garlic powder, but that is not in the recipe book) Heat a skillet to medium and drizzle it with some olive oil. Add the chicken and cook 4-5 minutes per side, turning once. Once chicken has browned, add the balsamic vinegar and honey. Continue cooking for another minute or two until the sauce has reduced and the chicken has become glazed in the sauce. If you like, reduce heat to low and cover with lid to continue cooking longer and reduce the sauce even more. Sprinkle with fresh basil.
