Easy Rib-Eye in 15 Minutes

It was my husband’s birthday yesterday, and I made him a rib-eye steak. The butcher at Kroger suggested I marinate the meat simply with salt, pepper, and garlic. So that’s what I did, and it came out great, bringing out the true flavor of the steak.

1 piece of bone-in rib eye steak (mine weighed 1.86 pounds and was 1.5 inches thick!)

Garlic powder

Season the steak on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic. Grill on high heat (lid down) for 7 minutes each side (for medium rare).

Serve with homemade mashed potatoes.

For the mashed potatoes:

Wash, peel and slice three Russet potatoes into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Add them to a pot of boiling salted water and boil for about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and drain. Transfer potatoes to a bowl. Add about 1/2 cup of milk (more if you like your potatoes mushier) and 1 tbsp. butter. Add salt if you want.
