This pesto sauce tastes very fresh on pasta and vegetables. One batch makes enough for a box of pasta and some vegetables. I split this Simply Recipes recipe in half and omitted the cheese.
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, rinsed
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/6 cup walnuts (two handfuls)
- 1 garlic clove (about 1 tsp of minced garlic in liquid)
- Salt and pepper to taste
In a food processor, combine the basil leaves and walnuts first. Slowly add in the olive oil. Finally, add the garlic and salt and pepper.
