How to remove burned-on stains from stainless steel pans

Last week I was boiling a combination of cinnamon sticks and whole cloves in water to make the house smell nice. Unfortunately, I got busy preparing lunch and I let it boil for too long. The saucepan became crusty at the bottom. I put my baking soda and vinegar combination to work again, and it did the trick!

Directions:

Sprinkle enough baking soda onto the bottom of the saucepan until it creates a thin layer. Pour distilled white vinegar onto the baking soda to create a paste, or spray a combination of vinegar and Dawn dish soap until the bottom of the pan is moist. Let this mixture rest overnight. In the morning, grab a scouring pad or a sponge with an abrasive side and scrub the pan. Rinse under hot water. The pan should be clean and shiny again!
